Air cleaning for gyms and studios

Gyms, studios and changing rooms vary in size, occupancy and ventilation, and activity levels change through the day. Air-cleaning equipment should be selected and operated for the needs of each space.

Planning air cleaning in your facility

  • Choose for the room: Consider room volume, peak occupancy, ventilation and the selected model’s clean air delivery rate.
  • Plan placement: Keep air inlets and outlets clear and position equipment where it will not be knocked or obstructed.
  • Consider everyday use: Check operating noise and fan settings against classes and other activities, and follow the product manual.
  • Maintain the equipment: Assign responsibility for cleaning, filter checks and replacement.

In laboratory chamber tests, the HA500 and HA800 each reduced the H1N1 virus indicator and the bacteria Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus albus by at least 99.9% within 60 minutes; the HA500 was also tested against human coronavirus 229E. Results apply to the tested model and conditions — see Evidence & Test Results.

Healthy Air Technology offers models for different indoor settings. Our Evidence & Test Results page explains selected model-specific laboratory findings and their limitations. Results should not be transferred between models or treated as guarantees of performance in a gym or studio.

Air cleaning should support appropriate ventilation, cleaning and routine maintenance. It does not guarantee prevention of colds, coronavirus transmission or other infections.
